The Dodgeville Police Department is comprised of 9 sworn Officers, including the Chief and Lieutenant.
We have full time administrative assistant and several part-time officers. We have actively participated
in numerous internships and are committed to the training and betterment of Law Enforcement Officers.

Services
Criminal
Detection and Investigation of all criminal incidents alleged and reported in the City of Dodgeville.
Some of these incidents include theft, criminal damage to property, trespassing, sexual assault, domestic
disturbances and drug offenses.
Municipal
The department also enforces municipal code violations set forth by the city council. These may include
animal violations, fireworks complaints, truancy, curfew and public nuisance violations.
Traffic
The traffic functions includes the enforcement of the state traffic code, accident reporting as required
by the State of Wisconsin, and municipal parking ordinances. The department also has some registration
forms for motor vehicles, but we do not have temporary license plates. These must be picked up at the
Iowa County Sheriff’s Office.
Service
Along with the enforcement of state and local laws, the department provides numerous other services. This
includes warrant arrests, the commitment of intoxicated or suicidal persons, recovery of found property and
traffic direction for EMS, fire and other community activities.
