Mailing Tax Payments
Tax payments by mail, make checks payable to - City of Dodgeville, and mail to City of Dodgeville, 100 E Fountain Street, Dodgeville, WI 53533. If mailing your tax payment, please include the bottom portion of the tax bill. If you would like a receipt, please include a self addressed, stamped envelope, and we will mail a receipt to you. Payments postmarked by December 31, 2009 will be applied in 2009.
Tax payments can be made in person during normal business hours. When paying taxes in person, bring the entire tax bill, the top portion will be stamped paid for your receipt, and the bottom portion is for city records. The City Hall is located at 100 E Fountain Street.

Village Hall will be closed on Thursday, December 24th - Christmas Eve, Friday, December 25th - Christmas Day, Thursday, December 31st -New Years Eve and Friday, January 1st -New Years Day.
Refunds
Any tax payments that require a refund, received by the City, will be issued after the Council meeting.
Second Installment Payment

Every person, firm or corporation operating a business within the City of Dodgeville must file a Statement of Personal Property (Form PA-003) with the City Assessor’s Office each year on or before March 1.
The City Assessor’s Office sends a Statement of Personal Property form to each business owner that has an established account from the preceding year. These Statements are typically mailed during the last week of December or first week of January each winter.
New business owners who do not have an existing account should contact the City Assessor’s Office to establish a new account or simply submit a Statement of Personal Property on their own by the March 1st deadline.
Businesses that do not file a Statement of Personal Property with the City of Dodgeville Assessor’s Office shall be denied any right of abatement by the Board of Review.
Completed Statement of Personal Property forms are confidential and are not available for public inspection.

All real property and business personal property is assessable in the State of Wisconsin unless specifically exempted by state law. (s. 70.11, Stats.)
Property owners seeking an exemption from property taxes must file a Property Tax Exemption Request (Form PR-230) with the local Assessor’s Office of the taxation district in which the property is located. The completed form and any attachments must be filed on or before March 1 to be eligible for an exemption for the current assessment year.
Wisconsin Statutes require completion of this form - in its entirety - to be eligible for exemption from the Wisconsin property tax. Failure to do so may result in denial of exemption.

What is the Lottery Credit?
The lottery credit program is a tax credit program administered by the Department of Revenue. The lottery and gaming credit provides over $100 million in direct property tax relief to homeowners as a credit on their property tax bills.

Is the Lottery Credit amount the same for all Wisconsin Residents?
The amount of the credit is the same for all residents within the boundaries of a particular school district. However, the amount of this credit is determined by the Department of Revenue and can vary from school district to school district.

No. The amount of the credit is re-assessed each year.

Because this is a State of Wisconsin, Department of Revenue program, the municipality is not responsible for notifying qualifying homeowners of these programs. However, if noticed by the Municipal Clerk that you should receive the lottery credit, a one-time notice will be given in December.
