City Parks

The City of Dodgeville currently has four developed parks that contribute a total of 60.3 acres of active use areas and conservancy areas. These parks are distributed evenly throughout the City with the main community park, Centennial Park, being located in the south-central section of the City. All four parks are owned by the City of Dodgeville and are maintained by the City Parks and Recreation Department. Policy for these parks are established by the City Parks and Recreation Commission and administered by the City Park Superintendent and Recreation Director.

The Dodgeville School District owns and maintains three developed outdoor recreation areas adjacent to the schools and one arboretum that add to the City’s recreation base. These recreation areas are available to City residents during non-school hours. The school recreation facilities account for approximately 72 additional acres of active use and conservancy areas. The High School grounds serve as a community type park facility, while the Middle and Elementary School both serve as neighborhood type parks. The Arboretum, which is located adjacent to the High School, serves as a special use/conservancy area.

The City of Dodgeville Parks are open from May 1st - Oct 31st from the hours of 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

Centennial Park / Reilly Field

Centennial Park is a community park that is located in the south central section of the City. At 18.7 acres in size and with a variety of facilities, Centennial Park is the major community park serving the city of Dodgeville. Facilities include lighted shelters, a beautiful baseball field with backstop, fences and covered grandstand. The park also has picnic tables, grills, and a double tennis court. Horseshoe pits, restrooms and playground equipment are also included for all to enjoy!

The swimming pool complex is a prominent feature of the park with a bathhouse, wading pool and shelter.

Centennial Park is heavily used throughout the year. Activities include organized baseball, group picnics, supervised swimming and host to the Ohio Valley Regional baseball tournament.

Centennial Park offers three reservable / non-reservable picnic shelters. Picnic shelters can be reserved by the day. Click here to see the reservation calendar. Picnic shelter rental fee is $45.00.

Harris Park

Harris Park is located on the eastern edge of Dodgeville. Harris Park is a 30-acre special use park that also serves as a community park. A 27,000 square foot, multi purpose facility is the centerpiece of this park. The building is used for winter hockey, community events and even wedding receptions. Additional amenities include restrooms, kitchen area, storage and office space. The park features a play area with equipment, a lighted shelter, 2 outdoor restrooms, picnic tables, grills, softball/baseball diamonds, sand volleyball courts, athletic fields used for football and soccer and a great, paved, two mile walking path. This park hosts many Little League and Cal Ripken baseball tournaments as well as High School Soccer games.

The use Harris Park receives is heavy and diverse. Since Iowa County does not have a park system, Harris provides many services associated with a County Park or fairgrounds.

Courthouse Pocket Park
